Oceanic documentaries, exploring rockpools, slipping into glassy waters to reveal the world of magic and colour beneath. Just a few of our favourite things!
There is something literally otherworldly about the landscape beneath the surface. Where coral blooms and frills in secret colours, vivid fish dart and dive, and everything sways to the beat of the waves.
This week we’re bringing you a slice of your own coral garden to enjoy in your home, minus the slight inconvenience of jetskis, sharks and having to get wet. Win win!
Deep purple celosia and two toned, double petalled tulips are the star of this week’s delivery, filled in with delicate fronds of acacia – so like a branch of fan coral.
Get creative this week and arrange your blooms into your own personal coral garden.
Styling Instructions – DIY Coral Reef inspired arrangement
Here’s what you’ll need.
Celosia
Double tulips
Acacia (wattle)
Flower shears or secateurs
A sturdy vase and fresh water

1. Prepare your stems
Start by filling your vase with fresh water – it’s easier to do this first!
Trim away any leaves that will sit below the water line.

2. Measure your tallest stem
As a rough guide, measure your tallest stem against your vase. It’s easiest doing this at the edge of your bench or table.

3. Posy time!
Create a simple posy in your hand or on your table, by laying your foliage first and then layering in your celosia and tulips. Adjusting until you’re happy with how it looks!
Don’t forget, staggered heights help you create a more soft and natural arrangement, rather than everything at the same height.

4. Tie ’em up
Using a little twine or string (or simply a rubber band), wrap and secure your posy quite high.
Don’t tie too tightly as you don’t want to damage the stems – plus a little wriggle room for adjusting later is useful.

5. Measure up
Measure your posy against your vase so the lowest blooms sit just above the rim.
Snip stem ends to the same length and pop straight into your vase.

6. Twist and tweak
If desired, wriggle a few blooms a little further out, so your arrangement looks right to you! Any leftover greenery can be tucked into the edges.
Et voila! Your own little piece of paradise!
