Bush meets the Beach
with Gladioli and Protea!
Remember that classic Aussie children’s book Where The Forest Meets The Sea? Glorious collages of art and botanicals, usually ogled and covered in fingerprints at the library. This week’s blooms are inspired by that unexpected everything-in-focus-all-at-once aesthetic that’s so special, and uniquely Australian. It’s an unexpected pairing of velvety protea (or banksia if you’re in Sydney) and tropical hued gladioli, which will add a modern edge to your home this week.
We recommend keeping the foliage long and springy this week, to keep things wild and free! And pop your vase somewhere it’ll catch your eye again, and again.
Here’s what you’ll need.
1 large native focal flower (a protea or banksia)
4-5 stems of gladioli
Mixed foliage (dusty miller, eucalyptus or magnolia)
a clean glass vase
sharp scissors or flower shears
