Our local flower grower Troy is a long-standing member of our flower fam, and as you may have seen on our socials, a terrible fate has recently befallen Troy’s lovingly nurtured and carefully tended-to dragon babies! A few weeks ago a freakish mini-tornado swept through the picturesque Dandenong ranges and flattened these poor, sweet-smelling snapdragons from the waist down. Being geotropic, (and with Destiny’s Child’s ‘Survivor’ blasting in the background) they kicked adversity’s butt and continued to grow – blooms intact n’ all! – up towards the light from amongst the wreckage.

They’re still stunners, and they still smell lush, they’re just a bit… legless. So for a limited time, only you can get your hands on a bunch of tiny 40cm dragons. Total pocket rockets! And an inspiration to us all.

“May we weather life’s storms with all the courage and tenacity of a snapdragon”

…. Ok that’s not a quote. But it should be!

Flower Farmer Troy Casini in Snapdragon Field

Meet Your Grower

Aussie bloke Troy started his flower growing business at the tender age of 24 and now grows across two farms located in Monbulk & Silvan. In addition to snapdragons in a spectacular feast of colours, he also grows 16 types of ornamental kale, and during the warmer months a host of vivid varieties including echinops, amaranthus and sea holly.

The day to day running of the flower farm is overseen by the operations manager, Troy and Jemmiah’s daughter Bizzy, who is almost three. Troy laughs, “She’s the little big boss!”
