Soft as Spring – Soft tulip and snapdragon arrangement

with Eucalyptus and Woolly Bush!

I don’t know if it’s just the lockdown driving us to drink but these cherry red tulips, tall frosty snaps, spriggy woolly bush and aromatic eucalyptus have us dreaming of a delicious spritz!

The days are starting to get a little warmer, a little longer… and while an actual, pack-your-bags type of getaway is still frustratingly beyond reach, there is absolutely no reason you can’t get into holiday mode at home. After all, this year has been a bugger and you deserve a break!

So get these babies in a vase, (that way you’ve got yourself a room with a view!) then fix yourself a drink, using the above flavours for inspiration but perhaps with a teeny dash of gin… Now all you need to do is find a spot to sit back and relax where the sun can shine upon your pretty face!

Happy holiday!

Tulips – This week’s double tulips are twice the fun! Like all tulips they’ll continue to grow in the vase, and have a beautiful tendency to arch towards the ground. Use this to your advantage and let your stems lean out of your vase at staggered heights.

Woolly Bush – Cheeky name, but a timelessly gorgeous foliage to have in your home! Strip away any of the soft needle shaped leaves that fall below the water line in your vase, as they discolour quickly when submerged. Otherwise, this velvety greenery will look amazing for weeks on end.

Snapdragons – FUN FACT! Snapdragons are geotropic which means they bend away from gravity. This is why you sometimes see them with curved stems and tips, and you can use this to your advantage. Lean them out at an angle and let these tall spiked blooms create interesting shapes! They are also very heavy drinkers so change their water frequently to keep them juicy fresh for longer.

Gum – A classic and oh so stylish foliage! It’s right on trend styled all on it’s own in a glass vase, but also provides a soft silvery backdrop in an arrangement. When your blooms are done, gather up and leftover eucalyptus and hang it in a bunch in your shower for a steamy fragrance hit!
